Jalan is a new drama serial that started on ARY on 17th of june. It is produced by BigBang and stars Minal Khan, Areeba Habib, Fahad Sheikh and Emmad Irfani.
First thing that caught my attention was how big and good the production values are in this series. From overview drone shots to parties and houses everything looks lux and expensive. Story started with all the characters being introduced to Two sisters one is always jealous of the other one but the other one is very good so organically the good one always gets the good things but that doesn’t mean that the bad one gets the bad things she has everything a loving fiancé who looks to be rich as well but she always wants more and that more, her sister has it and now she is going to get that more or try to snatch from her sister. Still very confused about the names of these two characters Misha Nisha Meenu ? Also the motivation for Nisha to be jealous was not shown yet, is it a childhood trauma, was her sister always better than her or was praised more ( judging by her parents not the case), So i am interested to see what her motivation is for this immense jealousy. I have to say the story is the same old. I don’t want to say it because it is said million times before but it is the same wine packaged in a new bottle. You can already tell the how this drama is going to end from the very first episode because we have seen this story so many times on TV. There is nothing new and exciting about the direction or writing either. We all heard this theme song before so nothing new in that department but the background music was good and cleverly used.
But i have to give credit where due the acting of each character is commendable. Minal khan stood out to me obviously because she is given the most screen time and she definitely shined through. It is her first time in a negative role and she is doing justice to the character. Lets see what future brings for this serial but if i am tuning into this drama again it will definitely be for the actors and not for the story unless they decide to do something exciting with it.
