Another good Eid at the box office passed with the great numbers coming from each film released. This year Eid was expected to be slow as long as box office numbers were concerned but the film performed and blew every ones expectations and brought about 23.4 cores collectively. The numbers are great considering the competition between the movies and the number of screen provided.
Yalghaar
Being hailed as a most expensive film of Pakistan, Yalghaar had huge expectations attached to it. It spent three years in the making so the anticipation was high. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics Yalghaar managed to surprise everyone with its number with the huge star cast it was no surprise that Yalghaar came with the second highest week of the year while released along side Other big budget film. The film brought 11.9 cr in its first week which are great numbers as film was on almost 100 % in every show. Next week will determine that where overall numbers will stand most expecting it will touch 20 cr mark, But we will have to wait for that.
Mehrunisa V Lub U
Coming from the director and actor who gave a massive hit previous year. MVLU had decent budget but the extensive promotions and the star cast made the film stand strong along side Yalghaar. Film surprisingly received Good to mixed reviews from critics and performed extremely well considering its strong competitor. The film brought 8.95 cr in its first week of release and still holding strong on week days when Eid dilemma has passed. The total collection of the film will be around 16 cr which will be great results considering the budget and Cast.
Transformer The Last Knight
Lets talk about the Dark horse. This movie was considered to be completely washed out when it came to boxoffice but it surprised everyone. Hollywood movies always have their fair share in Pakistani boxoffice and always find footfalls due to increase in English speakers. This movie brough in 2.6 cr in first week which are huge considering the fact that it was released along side huge local films But the film held its ground and is still doing well.
*All the numbers have been taken from Boxofficedetail
*Overseas numbers of both films still awaited
